What can be said about 2020 that isn’t painfully obvious to anyone in business? When it comes to planning, the saying ‘if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans’ rings true. Whilst the plan rarely outlasts the first shot on the battlefield, the planning process is absolutely vital.
My final thought for the year is to encourage you to keep planning and looking ahead in spite of continuing uncertainty – we have seen some fantastic results from planning well. Adjusting plans based upon feedback, even in the face of a global pandemic, is so much easier than starting from scratch as events unfold. In my view we often overestimate what can be done in a few months but underestimate what we can do in one, two or three years.
I want to take this opportunity to offer a heartfelt and sincere thank you. Thanks to all our clients, our followers and everyone I’ve met in 2020, for your words of encouragement and feedback earlier this year as the pandemic loomed so large over the planet. To the clients who’ve stood side by side with us as we faced our first and hopefully our last ever pandemic together, thank you.
So from my family to yours, please take time to relax, recharge and refocus for 2021. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy, safe new year. See you all on the other side of a well-earned break.
